From March 29 to April 1, 2026, the EUROPT(R)ODE XVII – International Conference for the Presentation of Innovations in Chemical & Biochemical Optical Sensing took place in Jena, Germany. This international event is widely recognized as one of the leading platforms for presenting scientific and technological advances in chemical and biochemical optical sensing.
As part of the conference, researchers J.M. Leça, J.P. Mendes, M. Nascimento, F.M. Costa, A. J.S. Teixeira, and M.S. Ferreira presented a poster entitled “Development of a PMMA-Coated HC-PCF Optical Fiber Fabry–Perot Interferometric Sensor for Ethanol Sensing.” The work focuses on the development of innovative optical sensors based on specialized fibers, with potential applications in monitoring relevant chemical compounds such as ethanol.
Participation in this conference is part of the dissemination activities of Work Package 4 – OLI Health, contributing to knowledge sharing within the international scientific community and enhancing the visibility of the work developed under the project.
Attendance at EUROPT(R)ODE XVII also enabled interaction with leading researchers and experts in the field of optical sensing, fostering knowledge exchange and the identification of new opportunities for scientific and technological collaboration.
