Inauguration of the second phase of the Photovoltaic Power Plant for Self-Consumption
The second phase of the installation of the Revigrés Self-Consumption Photovoltaic Power Plant, inaugurated in April 2023, has increased clean energy production from 1.2GWh/year to around 4GWh/year. With this commitment, close to 20% of the electricity consumed in Revigrés' manufacturing units comes from renewable sources, avoiding the emission of 1826 tons of CO2 per year.
Helexia was the partner company responsible for the design, implementation and implementation of this new phase of the photovoltaic plant, enabling Revigrés to double its clean energy production capacity. There are 7,328 photovoltaic panels and a power of 2.9MWp in operation, resulting in a solar energy production of 4 GWh/year.
With the new photovoltaic park, it is also possible to reduce CO2 emissions by 1826 tons/year, which corresponds to the planting of about 47 thousand trees.
The second phase of the installation of the Revigrés Self-Consumption Photovoltaic Power Plant involved an investment of 1.3 million euros carried out under the "ILLIANCE Agenda" Project [C644919832-00000035 | Project No. 46], funded by the RRP - Recovery and Resilience Programme, under the European Union's Next Generation EU.
A structured Environmental Policy
Revigrés' activity is supported by a structured environmental policy based on innovation and eco-efficient behavior that is reflected in the main indicators of its environmental performance. We highlight: the option for ECODESIGN, a more efficient production plan and process that allows a reduction in environmental impacts; the recovery of 98% of the waste resulting from the production process, incorporated directly into production and other manufacturing processes; the reuse of all industrial wastewater and optimization of water consumption; the use of recycled packaging; the recycling of plastic wasted in the packaging and storage process; and the management of CO2 emissions and the implementation of measures to reduce them.
The A+ Label, present on all packaging, certifies that its products do not release VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions, a classification that reinforces the company's concerns about contributing to a healthier environment.
Revigrés is also the first Portuguese company in the ceramic floor and tiles sector to submit Environmental Product Declarations (type III) - according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 - which attest to the impact of its products and processes on human health, ecosystems and consumption of material and energy resources.
